Third time's not the charm

Had my third cluster headache of the day about 10:30 pm. I've had a residual headache pretty much all day, so this one almost caught me off guard. I took a Zomig about 10:20 and the headache hit full force at 10:30. This one was pretty intense, but finally began to subside at 11:00. By 11:10 it was gone. I am definitely ready for this cycle to be done! I've got a funeral honors detail on Saturday with a 1 1/2 hour drive each way--I hope these things leave me alone long enough to do my duty.

Clusters Continue

Had another one at 12:30 am on Wednesday, again at 1:00 pm Wednesday, 7:30 pm Wednesday, 4:00 am Thursday, and 3:00 pm Thursday.  During the hot washcloth treatment this afternoon, I noticed a white-out when I put the compress on my right eye.  I've had a low grade headache all day which made it difficult to feel the attack coming this afternoon.  After the pm attack, I was fine for a little while but the low grade throbbing is back.  I really need to get some studying done tonight, so they will hopefully give me a break.

More clusters

Had another cluster headache last night that lasted almost an hour, but was not very intense due to early Zomig.  I am now in the middle of another attack.  Ready for these to be over!

Splunk for log management

I tried setting up Splunk a few years ago and gave up due to the complicated setup and needing the time for other projects.  I'd be interested to see how it works now.  Perhaps I'll get it going in a virtual server at home.  Here is a good article discussing it.

Cluster Headaches are Back! :(

Well, my cluster headaches came back with a vengeance Wednesday evening after a three-year hiatus.

I was at the Rec with Rachel, helping her practice basketball, and it hit me hard--by far the worst headache I have ever had.  I had another one on the drive home Thursday, was awakened with one Thursday night, then another Friday night.  Saturday, I was able to catch one early and the 5mg Zomig seemed to work in aborting the headache before it took hold.  Yesterday was uneventful, but this morning at 9:14 one hit me at work.  I had a mild sinus headache already due to the weather, so I didn't notice this one coming.  I tried taking one of those 5-hour energy shot drinks a few minutes after the Zomig, and the whole episode lasted about 45 minutes.

Now, I'm bouncing off the walls from the energy booster!
